This place isn't getting the love that it deserves. Not a single other customer in the almost one hour I was there. Sure it's paired with a German gelato concept with the most unfortunate branding (though the gelato was actually ok and sold better), but it's actually a franchise of the famous award-winning chowder house at Seattle's Pike Place Market. So everything is imported directly from Seattle. The New England claw chowder here was probably the best that I had in SG so far. It was chock full of fat clams and was not too salty or jelat.
Will be back to try the seafood bisque and the Manhatten chowder. I also tried a sample of the smoked salmon chowder which was good but a little too salty for me. If only this wasn't an outdoor location (not ideal for slurping hot soup) and the Pinacotheque branch was nearer to the office. Please support them too so they don't close down.
